Window Sealing

To ensure that your double glazed windows and double glazed doors maintain their quality and perform well in any weather, it is essential to close all gaps. The best sealant is chosen based on whether the installation is external or internal. With various grades of windows, hardware, and sealants available, we use only high-performance products to ensure window and door quality is not compromised. Applying a sealant bead at the final stages of installation ensures no draughts and no water penetration, resulting in a neat and attractive finish.

Many believe all silicone gels are identical, but we have found their properties and suitability vary significantly. Silicone descriptions often lack details on the correct grade and type for specific applications, leading to performance variability. No single type of silicone sealant is suitable for all applications. Incorrect silicone or poor application can result in joint failure, surface contamination, or excessive movement in the sealed joint. To avoid contamination, the installer must ensure surfaces are clean, all protective tape is removed, and no residue is present. For deep or wide joints, foam packer rod can be used to fill the recess.
