Windows Doors

Double Brick

Accurately measuring your old window opening is vital for installing double glazed windows and double glazed doors. Custom-built uPVC double glazed windows cannot be returned if ordered incorrectly, so our trained technicians will take their own measurements before manufacture in Sydney, ensuring precision for all replacement windows and doors. Most are manufactured to a +/-2 mm accuracy, ensuring an optimal fit.

We recommend that the installation and glazing of our energy efficient windows and doors be done by qualified technicians, such as window installers and glaziers, or experienced builders. While we provide double glazed windows and doors on a supply-only basis for DIY enthusiasts, we have found that self-installation or work by independent tradespeople can sometimes compromise the quality of our products. For example, not properly covering or filling large gaps between the wall and window can reduce the noise insulation and energy efficiency.

Please note that we are not responsible for incorrect installation if it was not performed by our team. We suggest contacting the party who installed your windows and doors for any issues.

We have successfully corrected poor installations of double glazed windows and doors, even those provided by competitors, although there is a fee for this service based on job complexity and quantity. We also offer consultation services for builders unfamiliar with uPVC windows.

Our experience has led us to create avoid-a-DIY-disaster installation tips. This information is meant as suggestions based on our experience rather than a step-by-step guide for installing double glazed windows or doors. Each installation may have unique challenges requiring expert knowledge and experience to resolve, so while we aim to provide accurate information, please do not rely on it completely.

Before starting, verify the size, style, and position of the window against the order. A perfectly installed double glazed window is problematic if upside-down or meant for another room. Since uPVC windows are not load-bearing, a lintel may be required above the window. If unsure, consult a qualified fitter or surveyor. The new window should be about 10 mm smaller in height and width than the brick opening. Clear the installation site by removing curtains, blinds, ornaments, etc.
