Environmentally Friendly
Our Sydney manufacturing facility is dedicated to sustainability, reflected in our efficient production of double glazed windows and double glazed doors. Through investments in precision-quality machinery and advanced manufacturing software, we've significantly reduced off-cuts and errors. Any remaining off-cuts, both profile and reinforcement, are made into samples for architects, builders, and tradespeople. We aim for zero waste of profile and reinforcement materials each month. Assembled windows and canceled orders are given to existing clients for free.
Our environmentally conscious practices are evident in all areas of our Sydney-based business. We avoid print media, opting to send all brochures, reports, quotes, and official correspondence electronically. For service repair calls on Chinese-made windows and doors from competitors, we provide cost-effective solutions without recommending full replacements unless necessary. Clients replacing old uPVC double glazed windows can opt for recycling at a minimal cost. Despite the high transportation and recycling costs, we aim to provide value for money and do not recycle products not manufactured by us for free.
We strive to recycle and use recycled products when feasible for transportation or installation. Currently, we use virgin uPVC profiles in manufacturing windows and doors but are exploring recycled composite materials as reinforcement alternatives. Rubber and metal from old windows can also be recycled into reusable, low-maintenance building products. We choose suppliers with strong environmental credentials who comply with legislation and continuously improve their practices.
Studies comparing the environmental impact of window materials such as PVC, wood, and aluminum indicate that optimizing the design and construction processes of energy-efficient windows holds the most promise for reducing environmental impacts. This involves improving window quality to save heating energy during use and increasing secondary material usage or reducing material needs.
We offer customers the opportunity to recycle old uPVC window frames by contacting us. We will either recut them into samples or send them to a vinyl recycling facility. Customers may reconsider using aluminum windows due to the environmental impact of aluminum production. Studies have shown that aluminum frames have the highest environmental burden due to pollutants released and high energy consumption during production.
PVC is a safe and versatile material, used in various applications such as mineral water bottles, blood transfusion bags, and fine bore tubing for premature babies. It can be crystal clear or black as coal, rigid or flexible, and withstand extreme conditions, making it ideal for windows, water pipes, and electrical insulation.
